Updates

These are updates to the game, quoted right from Japeth's glorious update pane but now in a wider format for easy reading...

September 5 The forums and wiki have been moved to forums.medievaltech.com and wiki.medievaltech.com several days ago, but this update is just for the sake of completeness.

September 5 If you haven't activated your account, you have to do it now. The email stuff should work correctly now. If you don't get an email after 5 minutes of one getting sent, post it in the forums. Of course, there's the whole issue of people who need this information not being able to see it since they can't log in, but that's ok.

August 24 Cronjobs work on the new server now and you now get energy for tonight and last night.

August 24 I found an error in the code that determines your level, so most people should gain a few [[levels] and, consequently, skill points, over the next few battles.

August 24 As you've noticed, I purchased a domain and moved the game to a faster server. The forums and wiki will follow suit shortly. The current service should be quite sufficient for some time to come.

August 14 Your level, class, and account creation date should now be correctly visible in your profile.

July 24 The Last Adventure link and Ironwood Armor bugs have been fixed. Thank you to those who reported them.

July 20 The game now remembers the last location you visited, the last combat skill you used, and the last enchantment to cast, saving you some time.

Also, that update about unique descriptions for enchantments is now accurate...I think.

July 19 Check out that cra..I mean pretty icon! You know you like it.

July 17 Some bards recently arrived in the local area and they are willing to teach fledgling adventurers their art. Interestingly enough, these bards only appear to an adventurer when he is choosing a class.

July 17 Whenever you use an enchantment, you get a unique description for each one rather than a generic description for all of them.

July 17 Some of you may have lost skill points when I added charisma, but now all the skill points you lost should be returned to you. Please report if there are any problems with this because I have a backup to fix anything that might have gone wrong.

July 17 I actually found a backup for the updates, so now you can see them in all their glory. And this update and the one about the updates getting lost kind of cancel out, like the amendments about prohibition.

July 15 the skill popups should appear correctly in all popular browsers and probably most others as well. Please report any bugs with this or future updates on the forums.

July 15 If you don't know it yet, you can click on skill names to get descriptions for them. Of course, javascript likes giving me a headache, so the popups work poorly in Firefox, not at all in Explorer, and probably not too well in other browsers. I'm working on this.

July 14 Several additions have been made to the game, the most important of which are the new skills and a new stat, Charisma. Check out this thread for more detailed information.

July 14 All updates from May 24 to this point have been lost.

June 14 The way stuff is printed during combat has been slightly modified. These modifications have also slightly affected the mystic, but they are purely aesthetic. A description for each location has also been added.

June 13 Monsters can now go first in combat, assuming you don't jump on them first. The attack calculation has also been altered and both you and monsters will now hit more often. You will now gain more skill points when you grow a level, even though they are still useless. A very minor change was also made to the text of the mystic.

June 4 A bug with the stats for mages and druids was fixed. All mages and druids should have had their wisdom and intelligence switched.

June 4 Monsters suddenly realized that you could run away from them and decided to train up a little. They won't let you get away so easily next time.

June 4 You can run from enemies now, if you're too afraid to fight them. To the death!

June 4 Losing a battle now causes you to lose less [[energy] than it used to. This should make hardcore easier. Wait, there is no hardcore! Well, it should make the game a little easier anyway.

June 3 The long-awaited updates have arrived. Please enjoy exploring the new content. All accounts have been reset to level 1. There are a few known problems so far. Please read about them here and do not report them as bugs. The forums have also been moved here. The old link no longer works.

May 2 An account activation system has been added. Now, anyone who registers must activate their account through email. Current members wil also have to activate their accounts upon login. If someone typed a wrong email address in, they can now change it.

April 30 A password reset feature has been added that works using your email. Now, forgotten passwords are a thing of the past. Well, sort of. You can also change your password ingame by going to your profile.

April 28 New forums have been created entirely for Medieval. Please visit them here.

April 27 The updates pane has been added. Now you can see all the latest updates right here.
